We’re excited to welcome Will Coleman as the newest member of our team. As an account coordinator, he will help support clients with a variety of integrated marketing and communications needs.

Curiosity, resourcefulness and an openness to new points of view are three core attributes of the Vehr team and critical to success in client service, strategic communications and, well, life in general. Coleman, a Cincinnati native, brings big doses of those qualities to the table, as evidenced by his three interesting internships, his travels on several continents and his obsession with a game called The Settlers of Catan.

Where did you go to college, and what was your major/minor?

I attended Indiana University, drawn by its strong journalism program as well as the fact that my grandpa went there. I earned my bachelor’s degree in media with a concentration in sports media and a minor in Spanish. During my junior and senior years, I focused on lots of marketing and PR courses. Going forward, I’m interested in increasing my skill and fluency in Spanish.

Talk about your professional internships.

I was fortunate to serve in three interesting, and fairly different, internships. During summer 2020, I served an internship with the New York Mets. Unfortunately, that had to be done virtually because of COVID, but I still had the opportunity to learn from Mets executives about working in the sports industry. I also served internships developing content for sports publication 12Up, as well as working as a communications strategy intern in Tel Aviv, Israel, for an audio-engineering startup called InSoundz.

What are your favorite media and social media channels?

I’m always on Twitter and use Instagram and Facebook fairly frequently. I subscribe to (sports media outlet) The Athletic, which has really good stories every day. And I like to read The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Indianapolis Star.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love watching and playing sports and especially love to play tennis, basketball and ultimate Frisbee. Anything outdoors is a favorite, especially hiking, biking and hammocking. I play a little bit of Scrabble and euchre and am a huge fan of the board game The Settlers of Catan, which is a game of strategy and resource management. I play the board game with friends when I can and play the online version religiously.

Can you describe hammocking?

I love to go out into the woods or forest or even in my front yard, hang my hammock between two trees and lay in there reading or listening to music. It’s really relaxing.

What’s the latest movie you’ve seen?

I recently saw and loved the “Sopranos” prequel movie “The Many Saints of Newark.”

How about a favorite or recent book?

I always return to “Infinite Jest,” by David Foster Wallace. I can turn to any random page and find something new in it.

Any hidden talents we should know about?

I’m pretty talented at catching thrown food in my mouth. Marshmallows are the best – I can go long range.

What are some of the interesting places you’ve visited and hope to visit?

I’ve been lucky enough to visit Spain, Hungary, Italy and Israel. On my bucket list is traveling in South America.

Lastly, what are some of your favorite spots in the Cincinnati area?

The Loveland Bike Trail is my favorite place. I also like to explore around Clifton, The Banks downtown and Over-the-Rhine and love going to Reds and Bengals games or even just being downtown to take in the game day atmosphere. As for restaurants, I’m a huge fan of A Tavola. I worked there and became hooked on their authentic Italian food.
