Website Redesign

The Northern Kentucky Health Department (NKY Health) engaged Vehr to audit its communications platforms to ensure it was sharing vital public health information in the most clear and consistent way possible.

Its principal community resource — NKYHealth.org — was quickly deemed a top priority. While the site housed a wealth of content, over the years it had become a massive — and somewhat outdated — repository for data and information about the organization’s many programs and services. Because of this unwieldy scope as well as the site’s confusing navigation, users faced a cluttered experience.

The WIN
We created a more effective and intuitive NKYHealth.org. We redesigned the site to provide clear navigation on the homepage for each key audience — Individual or Family; Business or Organization; Community Partner — and to reflect the new brand (also developed by Vehr). We also ensured clear, relevant content through several key changes: conducting a content audit of the original site to determine how information would be integrated into or eliminated from the new navigation; developing copy guidelines for NKY Health managers, who wrote large portions of the new site; and writing and editing copy. The result: a new website with a fresh, user-friendly design and engaging content targeted to key audiences.
