Communications Strategy for Transition to ESOP
For more than 60 years, Henny Penny has been a leader in providing food service equipment solutions. Its fryers, holding cabinets, rotisseries, combi ovens and merchandisers help customers improve food quality and increase profitability in some of the industry’s most demanding, high-volume kitchens. Vehr supports Henny Penny in its corporate communications initiatives, including its 2015 transition to an employee stock-ownership plan (ESOP) and related management reorganization.
For its ESOP announcement, Henny Penny needed help developing the overall communications strategy to inform and excite employees, the community, customers, distributors and suppliers. Vehr drafted key messaging, employee education materials, leadership presentations and stakeholder letters and planned a surprise event with a specially designed commemorative key to the company.
More than 600 employees gathered to celebrate at the corporate headquarters while team members around the world assembled remotely. Vehr facilitated interviews between local business media and company leaders, generating feature stories in all major regional publications and on television news.
