The District at Deerfield Groundbreaking and Reception

Silverman and Company, Inc. — a developer of high-quality office, retail and apartment projects throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky — wanted to launch the much-awaited The District at Deerfield with a groundbreaking that matched its importance to residents, visitors, community officials and development partners. The $150 million mixed-use showpiece will feature restaurants, retail, entertainment destinations and a 120-unit, high-end apartment community — all centered around a public square that will be owned, operated and programmed by Deerfield Township, which envisions it as a central gathering spot for the thriving community.

Vehr worked with Silverman leaders, key Deerfield Township and Warren County decision-makers, and marquee tenants — including Thunderdome Restaurant Group, Fifty West Brewing Co. and Pins Mechanical Co. — to shine a spotlight on The District at Deerfield. We oversaw myriad event details, including vendor selection, budgets and management (A/V, catering, tents and other equipment, and more); participated in pre-event site tours and troubleshooting visits with development contractors and other partners; and interviewed stakeholders to create collateral materials that aligned with project goals for Silverman and Deerfield Township. We worked with event speakers — including key leaders from Silverman, the township and county, featured tenants and other stakeholder organizations — to create talking points and align messaging. And our creative team designed branded materials, including invitations and fact sheets.

Gaining media exposure was an important event goal, and Vehr managed all aspects of media relations. We created and distributed press materials, including a news release, media alert, project renderings and fact sheets. Vehr also facilitated interviews; handled all media outreach before, during and after the event; oversaw event photography and on-site visits from news outlets; and monitored and tracked media and social media coverage to create a post-event performance analytics report.

The WIN
The groundbreaking and stakeholder reception that followed were deemed successes by Silverman and key partners, creating exposure for The District at Deerfield and positioning it as an important destination development for the region. The event garnered significant social media and media coverage from multiple TV and radio stations, as well as print and digital daily and business news outlets, in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton.
