VEHR COMMUNICATIONS WINS PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR GREATER CINCINNATI WATER WORKS
Supporting Future-Focused Public Education Effort

CINCINNATI (OH) – February 11, 2010: Vehr Communications, a Cincinnati-based strategic communications firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Greater Cincinnati Water Works (“GCWW”) to its client roster.  Vehr Communications will assist GCWW in developing and implementing a public education effort to inform the community of the current initiative to convert GCWW to regional public water district.

“We are very excited about beginning this partnership with GCWW,” states Nick Vehr, founder and CEO of Vehr Communications.  “As a national leader in distributing high quality water to its residents, GCWW is recognized as one of the most innovative water utilities in the U.S.  There are some big changes under consideration and Cincinnati’s and GCWW’s leadership place great value in public input and involvement.  We are honored to have been selected to support GCWW’s efforts to inform and engage the public during this important process.”

GCWW supplies more than 48 billion gallons of water a year through 3,000 miles of water mains to approximately 1.1 million residents and consumers. GCWW's service area has grown to include the entire City of Cincinnati, the majority of Hamilton County, Ohio, parts of Butler and Warren Counties in Ohio and Boone County and the City of Florence in Northern Kentucky.  Recently, GCCW was awarded an energy grant for the installation of a 280 kilowatt photovoltaic solar array rooftop system at its Chester Park Place facility on Spring Grove Avenue, creating one of the largest solar projects in Hamilton County.
